The Reason why the psp does'nt read the memory card is the psp's card reader (gold pins) are not touching the card ,so its not able to read it. the proper way to fix it is to open up the psp and bend the pins upward or change the psp's card reader. There are a few videos on utube or u can go to a repair/sparepart shop that specialises on psp. You just need a piece of paper!! (Cut a piece of paper roughly the size of the memory card/stick and make sure when you cut , cut the thing so that there is some excess paper at the back this makes it easy to pull out and avoiding the memory stick/card from being stuck.)
