Mod Complete - Dreamcast With SD Card Slot Booting Retail Game ISOs

Mod Complete - Dreamcast With SD Card Slot Booting Retail Game ISOs Video Clips. Duration : 10.28 Mins.

Final part - Mod complete and testing retail games from SD card Part 1 - www.youtube.com Part 2 - www.youtube.com Just showing a mod I recently found out about. I've installed an SD card slot in my Dreamcast to allow booting games and homebrew from a regular SD card. I've not seen too many videos of this mod and it doesn't seem to get a lot of attention so I though I'd do my own. Parts I used were from Maplin (UK electronics store). The following are the exact parts I used in this video. 1x Electrolytic capacitor 47uF 25V (Maplin part #VH32K) 1x Decoupling ceramic disc capacitor 0.1uF 50V (Maplin part #BX03D) 1x Metal film resistor 470ohm 0.6W (Maplin part #M470R) 1x 3mm LED (Any should do - for example part #N20FN) 1x Stripboard (Maplin part #JP46) 1x SD card interface - I bought a cheap multicard reader and gutted it for parts. Original schematic by jj1odm i827.photobucket.com Stripboard Layout I designed using jj1odm's schematic i827.photobucket.com (My first attempt at designing a stripboard circuit - might not be the most efficient layout but works fine) Dreamshell developer's site and downloads www.dc-swat.net.ru (right click "Save link as" on the Dreamshell download links - this confused me at first, lol)

EverDrive GG (Game Gear)

EverDrive GG (Game Gear) Video Clips. Duration : 16.48 Mins.

That's right Krikzz and StoneAgeGamer.com have brought us yet another EverDrive product. This time for the Sega Game Gear color portable video game system. Like the original EverDrive, the EverDrive GG is really easy to use. Simply load your Game Gear or SMS ROM files onto the provided microSD card, load the microSD card into the EverDrive board, pop the cartridge shell together and load the cartridge like you would any other game. The built in menu system will allow you to pick and play any games that are on your microSD card. The EverDrive GG comes with everything you need including the manual, 2 free Firmware/OS upgrade coupons, mini Philips screwdriver to open the included cartridge shell, plastic cartridge holding case, the 2GB microSD card and microSD to SD card adapter to load ROM files using any computer with an SD card reader. You can purchase an optional microSD to USB adapter if you do not have an SD card reader on your computer. The EverDrive GG works with almost every Game Gear game released and since the Game Gear and Sega Master System (SMS) share the same basic hardware you can also load and play most SMS games on your Game Gear as well! Maximum flash size is 1MB (8Mbit) and there is 32K for SRAM save states (for games that have battery backup save options) witch can also be saved and loaded from the microSD card for more storage. Now I understand this is a pretty obscure product and that most of you probably won't be considering this one. But if you're a ...

"The Disintegration Loop" - William Basinski

"The Disintegration Loop" - William Basinski Video Clips. Duration : 9.75 Mins.

Just an extract from "The Disintegration Loop"; I let the exaustive review from Pitchfork.com: You are slowly being destroyed. It's imperceptible in the scheme of a day or a week or even a year, but you are aging, and your body is degrading. As your cells synthesize the very proteins that allow you to live, they also release free radicals, oxidants that literally perforate your tissue and cause you to grow progressively less able to perform as you did at your peak. By the time you reach 80, you will literally be full of holes, and though you'll never notice a single one of them, you will inevitably feel their collective effect. Aging and degradation are forces of nature, functions of living, and understanding them can be as terrifying as it is gratifying. It's not the kind of thing you can say often, but I think William Basinski's Disintegration Loops are a step toward that understanding-- the music itself is not so much composed as it is this force of nature, this inevitable decay of all things, from memory to physical matter, made manifest in music. During the summer of 2001, Basinski set about transferring a series of 20-year-old tape loops he'd had in storage to a digital file format, and was startled when this act of preservation began to devour the tapes he was saving. As they played, flakes of magnetic material were scraped away by the reader head, wiping out portions of the music and changing the character and sound of the loops as they progressed, the recording ...
